How to Fix Infinix Download Error in 2024

If you own an Infinix smartphone, you may have encountered a download error that says “Tool DL Image Fail” on your screen. This error means that your device download is not complete and you need to check the flashinfo partition for details. Your device will boot in 5 seconds, but it may not work properly or have some issues.

This error can happen for various reasons, such as flashing the wrong firmware, removing FRP (Factory Reset Protection), or corrupting the vbmeta.img file. Fortunately, there are some ways to fix this error without having to flash your device again. In this article, we will show you how to fix the Infinix download error in 2024 using two methods: disabling dm-verity and removing the orange state.

Method 1: Disable Dm-Verity and Remove Orange State

Dm-verity is a security feature that verifies the integrity of the system partition and prevents unauthorized modifications. However, sometimes it can cause problems when you flash a custom ROM or remove FRP. To disable dm-verity, you need to use a tool called MCT Auth Bypass1, which can bypass the authentication process and allow you to flash any file without errors.

The orange state is another security feature that warns you when your device is not in a verified state. It shows a message like “Your device has been unlocked and can’t be trusted” on the boot screen. To remove the orange state, you need to use a tool called Orange State Disabler, which can remove the orange state warning and make your device look normal.

Here are the steps to disable dm-verity and remove the orange state:

Download MCT Auth Bypass1 and Orange State Disabler from the links provided and extract them to your computer.
Connect your Infinix device to your computer and enable USB debugging mode.
Run MCT Auth Bypass.exe as administrator and click on “Start Bypass”.
Wait for the process to finish and then disconnect your device.
Connect your device again and run Orange State Disabler.exe as administrator and click on “Start Disabler”.
Wait for the process to finish and then reboot your device.
You should see that the download error and the orange state warning are gone and your device is working normally.
Method 2: Replace Vbmeta.img File
Vbmeta.img is a file that contains the verification metadata for the boot and recovery partitions. It is used by the Android Verified Boot 2.0 (AVB) feature to ensure that the device boots only with verified images. However, if the vbmeta.img file is corrupted or mismatched, it can cause the download error and prevent your device from booting.

To replace the vbmeta.img file, you need to use a tool called SP Flash Tool, which can flash any partition on your device. You also need to download the correct vbmeta.img file for your device model and firmware version from Infinix support.

Here are the steps to replace the vbmeta.img file:

Download the SP Flash Tool and the vbmeta.img file for your device from the links provided and extract them to your computer.
Run SP Flash Tool.exe as administrator and click on “Choose” under the “Scatter-loading File” section.
Browse to the folder where you extracted the vbmeta.img file and select the scatter file (MTxxxx_Android_scatter.txt).
Uncheck all the partitions except for the vbmeta partition and click on “Download”.
Connect your Infinix device to your computer and wait for the flashing process to complete.
Disconnect your device and reboot it.
You should see that the download error is gone and your device is booting normally.
