Xiaomi plans to phase out bootloader unlocking for HyperOS devices

Say it another way, Xiaomi is making it more difficult to play with their phones. You will no longer be able to unlock the bootloader on phones running their HyperOS software (specifically, Hyper OS 05) as of October 26, 2023. Knowledgeable about technology people unlock the bootloader on their devices to improve their control, but doing so can be dangerous.  You are not going to have as many options with these phones because of Xiaomi's decision.


According to the information of the Xiaomi company, it will not be possible to open the bootloader key of the listed models:

People who enjoy playing with their phones will be disappointed by that! Xiaomi is making this change for unknown reasons, but they may be worried about people installing apps that could harm their phones by unlocking the bootloader. While it can be dangerous, this allows you to install custom software.

Not all companies have been giving up bootloader unlocking, as it happens. Not even Xiaomi. Recently, similar actions have also been taken by Huawei and OnePlus.  While it may seem a bit tedious, it's worthwhile trying to understand the possible logic behind Xiaomi's decision.
