Realme C65: Update Plans, Support Deadlines, and What It Means for Users
The Realme C65 has just been added to the company’s latest update schedule and if you’ve seen the announcement, you’ve probably noticed the bold phrase “ultimate protection.” Sounds great on paper, but there’s a little more to the story. In practice, this phone will comfortably run Android 15, and that’s where the ceiling is. Security support? That’s locked in until April 1, 2025 not a day more under the current plan.
From Version 800 to 900: The Rollout Story
The C65’s upgrade journey started quietly with the 800 series. Then came the jump to Version 900, pushed out on June 1, 2025.
There’s a catch, though don’t expect it to pop up in your settings as a simple “update available.” This release isn’t a regular OTA. It’s only rolling out through server-based tools like AMT, certain online service platforms, or Getag. In other words, you might need help from a technician or the right software setup.
Who Else Is in the Same Boat?
This isn’t just about the C65. Other phones using the same processor are on similar timelines:
- Oppo A18, A38, A48, A58
- Realme C75, C75x
- Peibot series
They can get updates until July 1, 2025, usually via a BROM switch method. But here’s the twist — many of these devices haven’t had their preloader refreshed in the latest firmware drops, at least not in every country. That could slow things down, meaning some users will be waiting months before the update hits.
Why Security Patches Still Matter
For now, the bulk of developer energy is on keeping security patches up to date. Once that’s squared away, the focus will shift to firmware region codes and GDPR flash compatibility — the kind of behind-the-scenes details most people never think about until something doesn’t work.
The Devices Already Past the Finish Line
If you’re holding onto one of these, you’ve already crossed the official support deadline:
- Realme C3
- Realme C25 / C25s
- Realme Narzo 10A
- Realme Narzo 20
- Realme Narzo 30A
- Realme Narzo 50A
Realme’s parent brand, Oplus, tends to stick to about three years of updates for its mid-range lineup. So, devices launched in 2020 or 2021 have run their course. If you still want fresh firmware, it’s DIY territory now — force BROM flashing or preloader authentication.
MT6768 Devices: Technical Details
For those who like the nuts and bolts:
- The official DA (Download Agent) file for MT6768-based OPPO and Realme devices stays valid for about eight months of protection.
- It can read/write GPT partitions but won’t format them unless you bypass the preloader block.
- No SLA is needed for basic operations.
- Gautam Kumar’s modified DA exists but needs remote SLA for full write/format access.
