Bootloader Unlock & Root Tool Free Download

Bootloader Unlock & Root Tool Free Download

Unlocking the bootloader just got easier thanks to a leaked engineering abl.img and a user-friendly Windows toolbox made by @BotchedRPR. Before you begin, make sure to back up your current bootloader and init_boot.img, since updates won’t work if things don’t match your firmware. You’ll need to enter EDL mode, install QUSB_BULK drivers using Zadig, then use the toolbox to flash the engineering bootloader and dump your init_boot for Magisk rooting. Once done, just reboot to fastboot and run the command to unlock your bootloader. Simple, clean, and effective—just remember to restore stock files before any OTA updates!

🔓 Unlock Bootloader & Root — Step-by-Step Guide

🔧 Step 1: Important Preparations

  • Backup Everything!
    • Before you start, make copies of your abl.img (bootloader) and init_boot.img. You'll need these later for updates.
  • Keep Track of Changes:
    • Whenever you flash or change a file, save the original somewhere safe so you can go back to it if needed.

📥 Step 2: Get the Tools

  • Zadig Driver Tool:
    • Download: Zadig v2.8
  • Toolbox v1.1 (Windows GUI):
    • File: z60-toolbox.zip
    • Password: xda

⚙️ Step 3: Enter EDL Mode (Emergency Download Mode)

Choose one way:

  • Manual:
    1. Turn off your phone.
    2. Hold down Volume Up + Volume Down.
    3. While holding, connect your phone to your PC with a USB cable.
  • Using ADB (if your phone is on and USB debugging is enabled): adb reboot edl

🧩 Step 4: Install QUSB_BULK Drivers

  1. Open zadig-2.8.exe.
  2. Go to Options → List All Devices.
  3. Select QUSB_BULK.
  4. Click Install Driver.
  5. Verify: Check your Device Manager to make sure QUSB_BULK is listed correctly.

🧰 Step 5: Use the Toolbox v1.1

  1. Extract z60-toolbox.zip (password: xda).
  2. Open the tool.
  3. Click:
    • ✅ "Flash ENG Bootloader" (this flashes the engineering abl.img)
    • ✅ "Get init_boot" (this saves init_boot.img for Magisk rooting)

🚀 Step 6: Reboot to Fastboot & Unlock

  1. Reboot to bootloader: adb reboot bootloader
  2. Unlock bootloader: fastboot flashing unlock
  3. Done! Your bootloader is now unlocked.

🔒 (Optional) Lock Bootloader Later

  • To lock it back: fastboot flashing lock

⚠️ Important Notes & Warnings

  • DO NOT use "Restore to PROD bootloader" – this can damage your device.
  • 🔋 To get out of EDL mode, press and hold the Power button for 10-15 seconds.
  • 🔁 Before software updates (OTA): Always put back your original abl.img (from the same firmware version) and the unpatched init_boot.img (if you rooted with Magisk).
